Description

Would make it a lot easier to spin up other-language wikis if we ever decide to do so, as well as avoiding cutting down on needed server space. YGOrg could also store their files on it potentially.

Bulbapedia/Bulbagarden is probably the major example of this type of setup outside of Wikimedia Commons itself.

This is very easy to set up and wouldn't be any kind of issue.

How are you suggesting YGOrg access the server?

Right now I don't have anything more solid than "upload images for posts and then embed them"; I'm not sure if anything more would be required. IIRC @Dan has expressed some interest in the idea himself, though.

Well, YGOrg can always search for existing images on the wiki and embed them into their posts, I'd have no issue with this.

However, I would have an issue with allowing YGOrg's Wordpress site to directly access our servers as this could introduce a security concern.

I don't recall specifically what dinoguy refers to, but we did have an issue before with linking externally to images and have begun hosting them on our wordpress site unfortunately.

What kind of issue? We could probably figure out a work-around.

I would guess they had a problem with images being taken down/removed. If so, then switching to having the wiki host the images wouldn't reintroduce that problem (images used on the site would be tagged as such, so editors would be aware they couldn't just rename/delete/reupload without further work).
